Passion, artistry,
and community
Opera San Juan Capistrano is committed to making classical music accessible, engaging, and relevant to the San Juan Capistrano community through performances, educational initiatives, and community events.
In doing so, we provide professional performance opportunities and master classes for emerging artists while nurturing the next generation of talent and inspiring a lasting love for classical music.

An international soprano rooted in Southern California
Alexys Tiscareno is an international soprano, singer-songwriter, and Southern California native who founded Opera San Juan Capistrano out of a deep belief in the power of music to bring people together. As Founder and President, she is building the company with a personal commitment to honoring the richness of opera while exploring fresh, engaging ways to share it with her community.
Alexys has appeared in notable performances including concerts at the Dolby Theatre with Metro Boomin, John Legend, and the Red Bull Symphony, and at The Rady Shell with the Dana Point Symphony. Her achievements have earned national recognition as a YoungArts winner and a nominee for the Presidential Scholars in the Arts. She holds a degree in Voice from UCLA and a Master of Music from the École Normale de Musique de Paris.
While classically trained, Alexys's artistic background spans pop, jazz, and musical theater — giving her a deep appreciation for how music can crossover. She is a devoted teacher who maintains a private voice studio for students of all ages.
Recently embracing motherhood, she brings an even deeper sense of purpose to her work as an artist, educator, and arts leader — dedicated to creating musical experiences that feel vibrant, welcoming, and deeply relevant for longtime opera lovers and first-timers alike.
